Trainees learn direction kills and arts to lead work team through achieving balance between theoretical academic teaching and practical training and workshops that trainees conduct to gain further experience. They learn and study various artistic aspects which are highly needed by TV work. They also face the very challenges that directors face at work and they write scenario as well as making film montage and direction by intensive training. This step enables participants to show their creativity as well.

 

Training Subjects

 Level (1)

Camera and Lighting Basics and Principles:

Trainees identify the different types of cameras as well as camera properties, installing camera and the importance of each aspect of using camera and lenses. They also learn camera angles, use and preparations in optimum run process.

Direction Basics and Principles :

Trainees study the relationship between director and the elements of drama work- during its different stages starting from preparation stage to the show and distribution stage. These are the stages of making TV works. Trainees identify direction role in making art in terms of its three stages (scenario, camera and montage).

 Audio Basics:

Trainees identify the human ear, sound nature and its properties and sound laws. They identify types of headphones, microphones and insulating material inside studio as well.

Work Ethics:

The subject aims at creating ethical concepts in the souls of media men in which work ethics are considered as an essential part of such works especially after the rapid spread of media and communication means. The subject covers media jobs and honor, honesty and truth exigencies in addition to media men ethics (director, cameraman, editor, audio technician, lighting engineer, announcer …..) and media duties.

 

Level (2):

Drama and Scenario Writing:

Trainees identify the different types of drama and the basic steps for writing complete texts, incomplete texts and the types of TV scenario and TV comedy.

Direction Professionalism Course (1)

Trainees identify direction techniques through elements of making snapshots. They also identify balance, its rules and the relation between director and scenario as well as director sources starting from the basic idea reaching to the stages and factors of making scenario. The course covers conflict idea and then trainees practice writing scenario through some short stories and turning them into successful scenario.

Practical Training:

Trainees practice practical applications in addition to executing practices that instructors ask trainees to do in order to embody theoretical study into practical exercises.

 

Level (3)

Direction Professionalism Course (2)

It provides trainees with information on montage work and the role of editor in installing primary snapshots. Scenario helps trainees to make this step wherein they benefit from aesthetic and technical aspects of scenario. They also identify how to select the best repeat snapshots in the mean scene but such a step might require dialogue via dubbing.

Practical Training Subject

Trainees practice practical applications in addition to executing practices that instructors ask trainees to do in order to embody theoretical study into practical exercises which mainly depends on montage in this stage.

 

Level (4)

Direction Professionalism  (3)- Practical Training and Projects:

Trainees practice writing scenario through writing short stories following watching some films and dramatic works. If trainees would like to direct a news program then they have to submit the idea and scenario. At the end of the course, each trainee has to photocopy his/her work then they have to make the needed montage and music and discuss everything with the subject instructor. 

Creative Workshop:

It covers practical applications and training on the points that have been already covered by the course which precedes graduation project. The step aims at empowering trainees to depend on information and skills they obtained during the course in order to prepare their graduation project soon.

Graduation Project :

Trainees submit graduation project after discussing it with the subject instructor in addition to project preparation and submitting it to a special committee to evaluate it.
