  Camera & Lighting Course

Camera and Lighting course enables trainees to experience various aspects of camera and controlling lighting. Trainees learn how to be camera professional cameramen; however the class encompasses techniques in how to operate the current types of cameras used in creating television shows.

Trainees will begin learning all the essential elements of shooting with various camera types, lenses, filters and significance of lighting and camera angles. The class culminates with hands-on exercise that allows them to put into practice all the skills they have acquired.

 

Training subjects

 

Level  (1)

Camera and Lighting Basics and Principles Subject:

Trainees identify the different types of cameras as well as camera properties, installing camera and the importance of each aspect of using camera and lenses. They also learn camera angles, use and preparations in optimum run process.

Direction Basics and Principles:

Trainees study the relationship between director and the elements of drama work- during its different stages starting from preparation stage to the show and distribution stage. These are the stages of making TV works. Trainees identify direction role in making art in terms of its three stages (scenario, camera and montage).

Audio Basics Subject:

Trainees identify the human ear, sound nature and its properties and sound laws. They identify types of headphones, microphones and insulating material inside studio as well.

Work Ethics Subject:

The subject aims at creating ethical concepts in the souls of media men in which work ethics are considered as an essential part of such works especially after the rapid spread of media and communication means. The subject covers media occupations and honor, honesty and truth exigencies in addition to media men ethics (director, cameraman, editor, audio technician, lighting engineer, announcer …..) and media men duties.

 

Level  (2)

Camera :

Trainees study lens types, their visual properties and the difference between field camera lenses and studio ones. They also study lens positions, narrow and wide lens and field deepness.

Practical Training :

Trainees conduct practical exercises on camera motion through holding cameras either by hand, putting them on shoulders or on a stand.

 

Level  (3)

Camera and Lighting:

Trainees learn how to control lighting to get distinguished pictures and conduct some simple training exercises wherein cameraman has to play the role of shooting manager to choose camera position and the used lighting. 

Practical Training :

 Intensive training exercises on controlling lighting in filming drama, ads or other works.

 

Level (4)

Creative Workshop:

It covers practical applications and training on the points that have been already covered by the course which precedes graduation project. The step aims at empowering trainees to depend on information and skills they obtained during the course in order to prepare their graduation project soon.

Graduation Project:

Trainees submit graduation project after discussing it with the subject instructor. This subject covers preparing the project, handing it to the relevant instructor and submitting it to a special committee to evaluate it.
